A concussion is caused by a direct blow to the head or impulsive force transmitted through the head (whiplash). It is defined by a rapid onset of "short-lived" neurological impairments. At Wasatch Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine we offer early management for concussions including: physical therapy for headaches, neck pain, and dizziness and craniosacral therapy for neural calming and symptom management. We provide medical recommendations for home therapy to speed up recovery and provide referrals to appropriate medical professionals for additional care and treatment.
Trigger point dry needling
Dry Needling is a skilled intervention performed by a physical therapist that uses a thin filiform needle to penetrate the skin and stimulate underlying myofascial trigger points, muscular and connective tissues for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments
neck and back injuries
Wasatch Physical Therapy’s evidence-based spinal rehabilitation program is focused on decreasing neck and/or back pain, improving your mobility, creating stability for functional activities and providing you with education on a home maintenance program to ensure you a quick and safe return to your job, recreation, sports and daily living.
At Wasatch Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine we employ Licensed Massage Therapists to assist in our manual therapy programs. It is a proven medical fact that deep tissue massage increases blood flow. Increasing blood flow helps your body move toxins out of the affected area and expedites the healing process. We have included profiles of our Licensed Massage Therapists on this site.
We are happy to team up with Flowing Freeride to provide educational videos on injury prevention. Watch this first video on glute medius activation. You can find out more about their company at: http://flowingfreeride.com/
